Hey everyone,
Today, I’m happy to share my latest YouTube video which I think raises a pretty interesting question.
Right now, we are just one 3D Mario game away from the entire series becoming playable on Switch (if you’re not counting 3D Land, of course).
The missing game is the widely-loved Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Remember— Galaxy 2 wasn’t included in Super Mario 3D All-Stars
Knowing this, we have to consider the following questions:
Will Super Mario Galaxy 2 ever come to Nintendo Switch in order to complete the lineup of home console 3D Mario games on the system?
Would it come as a remake or a remaster?
How and when would it release?
Would it come to the current Nintendo Switch or the (hopefully backwards compatible) Switch successor?
In the above video, I grapple with this question a bit and put forward several scenarios for Super Mario Galaxy 2 I think could happen in the future.
I won’t spoil it here, but definitely check out that video if you’re interested!
It’s Here! - Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition First Impressions
Aside from my usual video-making, I’ve spent the latter parts of this week playing a bunch of Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition. I am a big fan of NES Remix from last-gen, so I was pretty excited for this one.
Every free moment it seems like I’m chipping away at it using my Nintendo Switch in handheld mode.
The game is just what I expected, and I couldn’t be happer with it.
Typically, I really enjoy “checking all of the boxes” in video games trying to clear each challenge with the highest rating possible (e.g. collecting all Sparkle Gems/ribbons in Princess Peach: Showtime! or hitting target times in Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s Treasure Roads).
In the case of NWC: NES Edition’s Speedrun mode, that’s called getting an “S Rank.”
I’ve been having a blast going down the list and trying to S Rank each NES-themed challenge before moving onto the next.
In fact, I’ve enjoyed it so much— I’ve yet to check out any of the other modes!
I’ve cleared most of the “Normal” difficulty speedruns with an S Rank, but some of the harder difficulty ones are extremely tough.
I’m starting to doubt if I actually have the skill to S Rank all of these.
But I need to believe… So I will!
The Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, and Kirby-themed challenges I’ve definitely had an easier time with as opposed to ones like Excitebike and Kid Icarus.
I haven’t played these particular NES games very much. So with these, I kind of need to learn as I go.
I actually played through Ice Climber not to long ago, so those haven’t been too bad!
I’m excited to play more this week, while at the same time playing through some of my Nintendo backlog from earlier this year.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is beckoning. :)
I hope you also have fun with Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition (if you’re playing).
And have a great week!
